Currently Reading… (updated 1.28.2015)

Wow.  It’s been nearly a year since I updated this page. sacredmarriage We recently completed reading “Matrimonio Sagrado” or Sacred Marriage by Gary Thomas.  We read the Spanish edition.  It was ETERNAL.  But it was a VERY good read!  Thanks to the Gunters for that gift.

planyourmariageWe recently started reading “Before You Plan Your Wedding, Plan Your Marriage” by Dr. Greg & Erin Smalley.  It’s meant for engaged couples but even for us 2-year-olds, it’s such a useful read!

I can’t tell you how many books of the Bible we’ve gone through in the last year, but we just finished Matthew and we jumped to the Gospel of John.

What are you reading??  Do you have any book recommendations??  We will be looking into Christian Parenting books after we finish this one, so give us your suggestions! 🙂

As you might know, one of our favorite things to do on our free time is read.  Exploring the Bible together is also a joy and discipline we have practiced since we dated, currently practice, and hope to pass on to our children and children’s children.  Reading Scripture together has probably been one of the number one reasons for our spiritual bond and growth towards Christ.  At this point we’ve read through much of the New Testament and some minor prophets, Solomon’s Writings, and the first 7 books of the Old Testament.  We are currently in Judges…. and it is CRAAAAAZYYYYY.

We’ve also read several books on love and marriage, written by excellent Christian authors.  We are still a VERY young couple and have SO MUCH to learn.  It has been so good for us to read and learn together from the experience of other couples and experts in the marriage field.  Some books we enjoyed and recommend to our couple friends include:

Real Marriage
Real Marriage

“Real Marriage” by Mark & Grace Driscoll
“Sheet Music” by Kevin Leman

We are currently reading “El Matrimonio que siempre ha deseado” by Gary Chapman.  Yes, we read all of these books in Spanish – which means that my Spanish vocabulary should be expanding… I hope. 🙂

Thanks again for following our blog and keeping up on our adventure.  Continue praying for us as we learn and grow!
